Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to evaluate the academic supervision services of the state and private universities in Turkey. This evaluation was concluded under the guidance of the survey done among the universities via e-mail system and information derived from the web-pages of the same universities. The results of the examination of 132 universities in Turkey; the existence of the academic supervision service is indicated in the academic regulations of 91 universities, 29 universities described this service as one of their rules of action, the questionnaire was not replied by the remaining 12 universities and there was no information about the issue in their web-pages. The academic supervision service described in the academic regulations is examined under these titles: exacutive authority, the definition of academic supervisor, the supporting units, the methods of data storage, the avaluation and the control of the academic supervision service. In addition to this, the common and different issues of academic supervision service in those of university regulations are examined in terms of institutional academic supervision service models described in the first chapter of this study.
