Abstract (EN)

The presence of weed is important among the plant protection problems in sugar beet cultivation, which has an important place in industrial plants, and it causes yield and quality losses. In the study, it was aimed to assess the effectiveness of three herbicides and their combinations and tractor hoe treatment used in broad-leaved weed control against weed species and to determine the germination characteristics of the seeds obtained from Amaranthus retroflexus plants exposed to applications in the trial field. For this purpose, studies were conducted in 4 repetitions based on randomized blocks trial design in three fields in the areas where sugar beet farming was performed intensively in the villages of the central district of Uşak province in 2018. The herbicides with the active substances of 520 g/l Chloridazon pre-planting, 700 g/l Metamitron pre and post-emergence and 75 g/l Ethofumesate+60 g/l Phenmedipham+47 g/l Desmedipham+27 g/l Lenacil post-emergence were included in the study. The effects of the treatments were assessed against Chenopodium album L., Amaranthus retroflexus L., Descurainia sophia L., Silene conica L., Datura stramonium L. and Xanthium strumarium L. species which were found homogeneous in the trial areas. Chloridazon+(Ethofumesate+Phenmedipham+Desmedipham+Lenacil 2) and Metamitron (pre-em)+Metamitron (post-em) treatments were determined to be treatments with high and long-term effects. The highest root (tuber) yield was obtained in Chloridazon+(Ethofumesate +Phenmedipham+Desmedipham+Lenacil2) treatment.
