Abstract (EN)

Thanks to its geographical location, our country is at the forefront with its boron and reserves. It has approximately 230 kinds of boron compounds. Boron derivatives used in this study; boric acid, sodium tetraborate pentahydrate and sodium tetraborate decahydrate. The flame retardant feature, which is the common feature of these compounds, is discussed. Since the cost of aluminum trihydrate, which is widely used for this purpose, is higher than other flame retardants, a search for alternative raw materials has arisen. In this study, rubbers, flame retardants and conveyor belts made of rubber are included. Conveyor belts are also called conveyor belts. The working principle of conveyor belts is a mechanism used to transfer any material from one end to another. It is economical, efficient and safe. With the use of conveyor belts, the human factor is minimized, allowing the desired material to be transported quickly and safely. Conveyor belts have various usage areas, both underground and above ground. The tapes used underground should be suitable for safety class and flame resistant tapes. In the production phase of the conveyor belt, flame retardants play an important role in this sense. The first step in the conveyor belt formation process is to create a rubber formulation. This formulation is approximately 80% rubber raw material and the remaining 20% contains antioxidants, plasticizers, flame retardants, process facilitators, etc. ATH and boron derivatives added rubber pastes were produced and then turned into a conveyor belt. To these produced bands; Flammability Characteristic (TS EN 12881-1) and Flame Resistance (TS EN ISO 340) and Determination of Adhesion Between Main Elements (TS EN ISO 252) tests were applied and compared with reference to the standards. Keywords: Polymer, Rubber, Mineral, Filler, Flame Retardant
