Abstract (EN)

According to World Health Organization data, 55% of the world's population lives in cities, and this rate is expected to be 68% in 2050. When these data are taken into consideration, it is seen that the importance of urban areas is increasing, the quality of life in these areas should be increased, the negative aspects of the city should be minimized and cities should be transformed into more comfortable areas. In the urban environment we live in, equipment elements placed in public or private areas for recreation purposes are the elements that support and strengthen basic functions such as seating, shelter, protection, siege, transportation, consultation, lighting, communication, games and sports, which are indicators of comfort and environmental quality, facilitate social life and facilitate users' lives. They are landscape elements that attract their admiration. Many studies have shown that among these reinforcement elements, shade elements are more effective, especially in open green areas, which are used more in the summer months. In this thesis study, it is aimed to determine the sufficiency levels of top cover reinforcement elements in the urban landscape in public open spaces used extensively for recreational purposes in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. In this regard, open public sampling areas in Baku, which are subject to intense use and where various activities take place, will be selected. In these selected areas, on-site inspections, observations, measurements, photography, information will be obtained from relevant institutions and oral interviews will be held with the users. As a result of the data and evaluations obtained, it will be determined whether the top cover elements are sufficient, and positive or negative examples will also be presented. Taking into account the average number of users for the creation of top cover reinforcement elements for areas where deficiencies are detected, suggestions will be developed along with building materials suitable for the identity and ecology of the area, according to the type of activity carried out. Thus, the opportunity to benefit from public open spaces in all climatic conditions will be increased. It is thought that the study will contribute to the relevant stakeholders in terms of its applicability.
