Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is to examine the perfectionist attitudes, stress and psychopathology levels of the parents of gifted children. In the research, 223 parents, selected by convenience sampling method, from Adana BİLSEM parents were participated. In the study, Perfectionism Scale (APS), Parental Stress Scale (ABSÖ), Symptom Screening Test Scale (SCL90) and Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher, were used as data collection tools. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the perfectionism of the parents of gifted children had an effect on the levels of their parental stress and psychopathology. Standards and conflict variables, which are subscales of perfectionism, were found to be significant predictors of parental stress and parental psychopathology variables. In addition to this, it has been observed that the perfectionism of the parents of gifted children has a partial mediating role in the relationship between their stress and their psychopathology. Keywords: Gifted child, parental perfectionism, parental stress and psychopathology.
