The comparasion of human values, compassionate love, social safeness and pleasure in gifted and normal students

Comparison of Human Values, Compassionate Love, Social Safeness and Pleasure Levels in Gifted Children and Normal Children This study, the aims to "compare the levels of human values, compassionate love, social safeness and pleasure in gifted students and normal students" of 6.,7., and 8. grades. To measure "human values, compassionate love, social safeness and pleasure levels" of the participants, scale of human values, scale of social safeness and pleasure, scale of compassionate love and personal data forms developed by the researcher were used. The participants of the study consisted of 726 gifted students in 6., 7., and 8. Grades in cities of Ankara, İzmir, Balıkesir, Çanakkale and Manisa, and attending BİLSEM, and 796 normal students of state schools in the same cities in 2015-2016 education year. In this study, "casual-comparative research" method was employed. Analyzes were performed in three stages. In the first stage, demographic characteristics of the group were analyzed. In the second stage, hypotheses essential for the study were tested. In the third stage structural equation model (SEM) was used for the data analysis. Results, indicated that gifted students have higher levels of human values, compassionate love, social safeness and pleasure than normal students. Gifted students' human values, compassionate love, social safeness and pleasure levels didn't differ significantly in terms of gender, grade, family income, parents' level of education, having a pet parents' occupation. It was found out that there is a meaningful connection between human values, compassionate love, social safeness and pleasure in gifted students. It was found that a higher sense of responsibility, which is a sub-dimension of human values in gifted students, increases compassionate love and that helps to increase social safeness and pleasure levels.
