"An Analysis of the Lexical Richness in the Work "Divan-ı Zuhuri" by the Uyghur Poet Zuhûrî

Since the early 19th century, the Uyghurs have been engaged in independence struggles against the Manchu and Chinese dynasties. During this period of political turmoil, ZuhûrîddinHekim Bey played a significant role both as a ruler and as a poet in revitalizing Uyghur literature, which had stagnated, and in laying the foundations of modern Uyghur literature. This thesis is a study of Divân-ı Zuhûrî, a work attributed to poet Zuhûrîddin Bey, focusing on "Text, Vocabulary Analysis, and Index." In the Introduction of the thesis, the history of East Turkestan, Uyghur literature, and the characteristics of the Classical Uyghur literature period are discussed. This section also covers the development of literary history during the Chinese Dynasty period and mentions the important figures of modern Uyghur literature. At the end of the introduction, information about Zuhûrîddin Hekim Bey and his work is provided. In the second section, the manuscript Divân-ı Zuhûrî, written in Uyghur script using Arabic letters, has been transcribed into the Latin alphabet using transcription symbols. In the third section, the Turkish translation of the text is provided. The Analysis section includes morphology and orthography. The morphology part examines only the derivational suffixes of nouns and verbs. The orthography section identifies and exemplifies different writing characteristics found in the text. In the Index section, the vocabulary of the text is listed.
