Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) for distancelearning model

On the last years, technological developments effect can be seen on educational fields. The distance education model is used in various fields in many educational institutions. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the distance education model has ceased to be an option for educational institutions and has become a necessity. This method, which was used institutionally only in some departments and courses of universities, is applied up to the primary school level during the pandemic process. This model is preferred at not only educational institutions but also all levels in private and state institutions. Reasons such as independence from time and place, ease of access and functionality, which are the advantages of distance education, were effective in this preference. The distance education model, which has not yet fully matured, has suddenly gained a wide vii range of uses. Therefore, many deficiencies and errors were encountered. Errors and deficiencies, especially in distance education systems, cause serious consequences such as access problems and inability to continue education. Various operations are carried out in order to eliminate the related problems and to make the system access efficient. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), which is from the methods for systems inspection and solution generation, is among the common preferred techniques for measuring detect error, determining the sequencing of priority and error preventation. In this thesis, the errors in the distance education model were approached with FMEA. Various measures and systemic interventions will be implemented according to the calculated risk assessment coefficient values, and the risk assessments of the relevant model will be reduced.
