Abstract (EN)

Carbon fiber reinforced materials have higher mechanical properties although they are lighter than metal. Vacuum assisted resin transfer molding process is a cost effective closed mold process which is environmentally friendly composite material manufacturing technique. In order to produce molds quick and precise, computer aided manufacturing machines are used. Due to the fact that they are speeding up production and improving product quality CNC machines are applied widespread. Because of casting made with closed mold process angle of 2-3 degrees are used to provide mold release in VARTM process. Therefore, requirement of producing molds used in VARTM process can easily accomplished by vertical milling machine In this study Computer aided moving gantry vertical milling machine (CNC Router) is designed. Solid model analysis is performed examining structural analysis and natural frequency analysis. Motor speeds required to machine the working space in desired time are determined. Motor power calculations are performed and motor selections completed by taking account of the inertia caused by acceleration. Applying motor parameters controller design is simulated by MATLAB/Simulink and proportional integral derivative (PID) controller designed.
