Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in 3 different locations (Erciş, Van Merkez, Gevaş) in 2018 in order to determine morphological, yield and quality characteristics of Crambe orientalisvar. orientalis species collected from the natural flora of Van province. Oil and oil components of C. orientalis were determined in fruit and seeds. In the research, plant height (134.15-145.08 cm), the number of main branches (1.54-2.23 number/plant), the first branch height (9.62-12.00 cm) and fruit diameter (3.35-3.42 mm), the differences between locations in terms of seed diameter(2.60-2.71 mm) were not significant, and the highest fruit weight per plant (118.24 g/plant and 146.96g/plant) and seed weight (81.04 and100.17 g/plant) in Van Merkez and Erciş locations, respectively. The number of seeds per plant (12575.0 number/plant) in Erciş, and thousand seed weight (8.34 g), thousand fruit weight (11.80 g) were determined in Van Center. In the research, the highest fruit and seed oil ratio of C. orientalis was obtained in Van Center with 18.13% and 37.97%, respectively, while the industrially important erucic acid content was obtained from Erciş location with 39.23% and 41.21%, respectively. As a result of this research, it is concluded that further researches are needed to increase the yield, oil and erucic acid content of these plants in Erciş and Van Merkez locations.
