Investigation of usage satisfaction of van Yüzüncü Yil University electronic document management system (EBYS) with CART decision tree

Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) can be expressed briefly as the system that enables instant management of document and information exchange in an institution in electronic environment. Since the most important asset of the institution is the document, EDMS is very important for the institutions. For this reason, it is aimed to investigate the satisfaction levels of EDMS user in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University and to examine relationships between some personal variables that thought to be related with satisfaction by Classification and regression tree (CART) method. The data of the study was obtained from the questionnaire applied to 200 academic and administrative staff working at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University. In the questionnaire, there were 7 personal variables and 11 expressions arranged as 5-point likert for what determine satisfaction with. CART analysis was performed for the relationship between satisfaction expression and personal variables. According to the results obtained by using the transaction options determined for CART analysis; The variables that have the greatest effect on EDMS user satisfaction are; "aim of EDMS usage", "frequency of EDMS usage", "Occupation", "Age" and "Gender" variables. The overall accuracy rate in the calculated algorithm was found to be 84.5%. Cross validation risk / estimate value was observed to be 15.5%. It is concluded that this study may contribute to the literature in order to determine the variables that may have an impact on EDMS usage satisfaction, to eliminate system shortcomings and to ensure effective operation of the system.
