Aesthetic and moral maturation in the context of existence

Humans need to ground their existence in this world on a meaningful foundation. The abilities to know, act, and create are ways for humans to perceive and give meaning to entities other than themselves. This process of meaning is not merely a mechanical realm of experience but requires the establishment of a holistic connection between good, truth, and beauty. In our age, the disruption of this integrity and the viewing of ethics, epistemology, and aesthetics as independent fields has undermined the idea that humans are beings of value and the belief in the universality of human values. Therefore, there is a need to recognize the subject of our age and establish an ethical and aesthetic integrity befitting the nature of this new subject. The proposal for integrity aims to develop a new conceptualization of philosophical aesthetics and to view aesthetics as a possibility that can be evaluated within the context of existence. In this context, the concept of maturation refers to perceiving the world within an ethical and aesthetic integrity. Maturation, which requires consciousness and will, can be interpreted as the subject's self-development in ethical and aesthetic terms. Aesthetic and moral maturation allows for an aesthetic existence in which the subject can transform their existence and knowledge while preserving their own identity. By reconsidering the questions of "how can I know?" and "how can I exist?", humans reach a level of maturity that unites beauty and goodness. While subjective in one sense, maturation, which also evokes the idea of unity, is the product of a multifaceted process influenced by elements such as intention, desire, condition, and ability. In this sense, maturation should not be understood as a fixed and universal systematization. Aesthetic and moral maturation refers to the development of an ethical and aesthetic consciousness based on existing human experience. By acquiring this consciousness, aesthetics ceases to be a domain experienced solely in the art object and becomes a ground of possibility for existence. Thus, the joy and happiness of maturing in ethical-aesthetic unity can be seen as a liberation from the metaphysical and aesthetic rupture. To these ends, a historical reading of the subject has been conducted through the answers to the question "What is human?", an examination of what has been said about the relationship between good, right, and beautiful has been made, and artistic practices that could be examples of ethical violations resulting from ethical insensitivity and aesthetic deprivation have been evaluated. Contemporary art criticism conducted from a human values perspective demonstrates that the issue cannot be limited to mere art criticism but must be evaluated from a philosophical perspective within the context of existence.
