Abstract (EN)

Ahmet Hamdi Akseki is a scholar of 'ilm who served in many significant state positions, witnessed the Caliphate, the Constitutional Monarchy and the Republic periods, and developed himself by receiving education in official institutions as well as private lessons. He is a scholar, thinker, and activist with numerous works in various fields. One of his significant works is the "Asr Suresi Tefsiri" (The Tafsir of Surah al-Asr), which is the first surah-based tafsir in Turkish and was written by Akseki after a highly renowned sermon on Surah Asr, with support and counsel from Rıfat Börekçi, the President of Religious Affairs at that moment in time. In this work, Akseki views the tafsir as a means to meet societal needs and solve problems. This study aims to present the author's understanding of the paths of salvation while shedding light on the life, ideas, tafsir, and tafsir method of Ahmet Hamdi Akseki within the framework of his tafsir of Surah al-Asr.
