Effect of neuro linguistic programming techinique on nurses and accousheuses on intramuscular injection application to ventrogluteal area

Introduction: This study was planned to determine effects of neuro linguistic programming techinique on nurses and midwives on intramuscular injection application to ventrogluteal area. Material and Methodology: Study was achived with nurses and accoucheuses who is employed at Uşak Government Hospital between May 18 – September 21 2015. In the research, sampling choice wasn't done, nurses who didn't get NLP training before and agreed to participate included in the study. Data were collected using the form which was prepared by the researchers, "Nurses and Midwives Description Form", ''Perceptions of Nurses and Midwives about Intramuscular Injection Application'', "Ventrogluteal Area Knowledge Form'' and ''Intramuscular Injection Application to Ventrogluteal Area Usage Process Steps Inspection Form''. The datas were analyzed with numbers, percentages, means, paired t test, student's t test, chi- square test, Kruskal-Wallis, Mann- Whitney U and MC-Neamer tests using the SPSS 22.0 software package. Findings: Average age of midwives on test group is 35,84±6,13, on control group 39,29±7,91, on test group %93,3 of participants were female, %6,7 were male, on control group %100 percentage of participants were female. Most used area on IM injections is dorsogluteal area on test group (%95,6) and control group (%88,9). Knowledge point averages of nurses and midwives is 14,29±8,34 on test group before training, and after training 23,53±3,14, on control group before training 10,38±8,87, and after training 18,76±6,80. Results: The research findings, said to be NLP technique was not effective. Key Words: Neuro Linguistic Program, Ventrogluteal Area, Training.
