ABSTRACT The history of Azarbaijan is indivisible part of history of İslam. Azarbaijan, which is on the southesu part of Caucasian, olne to its suitable geographical situation, became a homplace to migrations continuing frum the very old times. Before İslam, Azarbaijan was under the domination of the Sasanid Empire foevery long period. From the Seventh Century onusard the soil of Azanbaijan was ocmpied both by the Hazars coming from the norm and by the Arabs Coming from the South. Tihs occupation, doubtlass to say, made big Changes in the cultural and social life of Azarbaijan. By the beginning years of İslam, the Muslims started military activities im tlose places. İn the beginning of islamic military Conquests, Zanoastnianism in the southern pants of the country, and the Christi anity in the north. By the first conquerts, only southern parts of Azarbaijan became Muslim Soil.Housever, the northern parts becoming muslin took longer period clue to some special reasons and powerful Christian propagandas. When Azarbaijan was ruled by the Arabs, cultural and social activities increased. Among the azarbaijan people some revellions Coop place during that time. The biggest revellion was the Hurramis rebellion. This revellion is very important for the history of İslam, Since it accelerated the partition of the Coliphate By the second part of the ninth century, when the travic rule bevame weah, some political dynesties were established in Azarbaijan. These dynasties caused the development of cultural and political life among the people of the Southern Caucasus provinces. There, the domination of islamic civization over this are became the slanting point of late cultural and political developments.
