Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study; done for determining the interest between body image, eating behavior and food consumption of individuals interested in body building sport which has impacts on physical appearance is exercised by 60 volunteered men that consist of 30 amateur body builder and 30 individuals who have similar social-cultural features which do not make physical activity regularly. General characteristics, eating behaviors, food consumptions and use cases of nutritional supplements of individuals participated research are determined by questioning method and anthropometric measurements are taken. In addition who showed symptoms of depression status (BED), the structure of self body attitudinal aspects of body image (MBSRQ), and eating behaviors (DEBQ) was applied to determine the psychological scales. Nearly half (%43.3) of the individuals engaged in body building were interested in this sport to improve the physical self appearance. Reported that; %60 of the subject group and %30 of the control group are satisfied with self body weights and % 56.7 of subject group and %26.7 of control group are satisfied with the current muscle size.%52.4 of the control group individuals who are not satisfied with their body weight showed that wants to lose weight. Appear that,%46.7 of subject group individuals and %23.3 of control group individuals are using nutritional support supplements. Protein amount which also consist of nutritional protein support supplements which is taken by individuals of subject group increased from 1.7±0.5 g/kg to 1.8±0.6 g/kg and it was found to be statistically significant (p<0.05).In this study determined that majority of individuals in both group do not indicate depression tendency, but individuals of subject group were shown higher body and self image against the individuals of control group. The large majority of subject group individuals who exhibit pathological eating behavior has not been observed, in the other hand control group individuals were found to be have restrictive eating behaviors. As a result, determined that; physical activity exercising have positive effects of body image for individuals of subject group, despite dealing with body building play important role on physical appearance and muscle satisfaction.
