Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the effects of technical analysis indicators used by individual or institutional investors who want to invest in stocks in financial markets while making investment decisions on the stocks in the XU030 index. For this purpose, the returns of the stocks in the XU030 index in the first 4 months of 2021, 2022, and 2023 were analyzed. Against the returns of the stocks, two technical indicators used in technical analysis, exponential moving average, which is a sub-branch of the moving average, and two indicators used as the distance of moving averages, were used. It has been determined with which parameters of the indicators, combined with the periodic returns of the stocks, the best returns are obtained. In the periodic time parameters of the stocks, periods of 30, 60, 120, 180, and 240 minutes were filtered. The moving average technical indicator used 50, 100, and 200 parameters. In the MACD indicator, parameters 9, 12, and 26 were used. In the other part of the study, it was asked whether better returns can be obtained by performing combination updates on the parameters of traditional technical indicators. When the results obtained in this context are analyzed, it is seen that better returns are obtained than traditional MACD values by using 34, 144, and 9 parameters in the MACD indicator. In this framework, investors who will make investment decisions in financial markets can seize investment opportunities with higher returns by evaluating the application results.
