Abstract (EN)

Cultivated chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is one of the most important legume in the world and in our country. Wild Cicer species that exhibit natural distribution in Turkey have been considered as the ancestors of C. arietinum. Within the scope of the study, it was aimed to determine the similarities and differences of wild and cultivated Cicer spp. genotypes with DNA marker systems. Fifteen RAPD and eleven ISSR markers were used to define polymorphism among Cicer species collected from Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Mardin, Diyarbakır and Van provinces of Turkey. The RAPD and ISSR markers created phylogenetic differentiation by providing distinction among species. ISSR markers have been found to produce polymorphic bands such as the RAPD markers and have made a clear distinction especially for the C. pinnatifidum species. The C. arietinum genotypes exhibited similarity to the C. reticulatum at the genetic level. C. anatolicum species was placed to nearly the same group with C. echinospermum and C. bijigum species. Cicer pinnatifidum formed a distinct cluster.
