Abstract (EN)

The femur bone is the largest and strongest bone in the body. Located between the hip and knee joints, the femur bone carries the weight of the body and enables movement. The femur bone can be damaged by various diseases or injuries. In this case, the femur bone can be replaced by an artificial femur bone, the femoral implant. The femoral implant can be made of materials such as metal, ceramic or plastic. The choice of femoral implant material should be based on the needs of the patient, the durability of the implant, and the risk of complications after surgery. The aim of this thesis is to address the integration of multi-criteria decision analysis and finite element analysis methods to determine the appropriate material for femoral bone. Multi-criteria decision analysis uses a set of criteria to evaluate the performance of different materials. Finite element analysis uses a computer model to simulate the mechanical behavior of the femur bone and implant. By using these two methods together, it can help to select the most suitable material for the femur bone. The study shed light on the potential advantages of using Ti-6Al-7Nb and Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloys as femoral implant materials. These alloys have properties such as high strength, corrosion resistance, biocompatibility and good compatibility with bone. The results of the study can be an important resource in the development of artificial femur materials and in determining factors for the durability of orthopedic implants. Limitations of the study include the exclusive use of certain materials and the weight of the proposed materials compared to the femur bone material. Future research should comprehensively address this weight factor by investigating different femur models and potentially combining various materials to optimize implant design. Furthermore, a nuanced study of various surgical scenarios may improve our understanding of femoral implant material selection, providing more precise information for real-world applications.
