Annotated bibliography and evaluation of 'Yeni Musiki Mecmuası (95/1-176)

My thesis, titled "Annotated Bibliography and Evaluation of 'Yeni Musiki Mecmuası (95/1-176)'," consists of three chapters. The magazine, initially published in line with the ideas of Hüseyin Sadettin Arel, a prominent advocate of classical Turkish music, was owned by Laika Karabey from issue 3 to issue 176. After Arel's death in 1955, the magazine's name was changed to "Yeni Musiki Mecmuası" in January of the following year. My research is limited to the issues published under this name between 1956 and October 1962. The study evaluates the data from these issues in accordance with completed, national, and chronological bibliography categories, and each issue's contents are explained in detail. In the first chapter of my thesis, the concept of bibliography is defined, and information about its types is provided. Background information about other magazines launched during the same period as Musiki Mecmuası is also included, alongside details about Musiki Mecmuası itself. The second chapter examines issues 95/1-176 of Yeni Musiki Mecmuası in detail, presenting annotated and comprehensive content descriptions. The information is systematically organized using headings such as issue number, date, month, year, owner, editor-in-chief, place of publication, price, office, telephone, title, format, author, content, and page details. The third chapter summarizes the systematically prepared content descriptions and conveys the findings in general terms. The writing styles, authors, sheet music, and advertisements are tabulated and evaluated. In the conclusion, the magazine's details, the topics discussed within its pages, and the perspectives it represents are summarized.
