Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, besides controlled/living polymerization methods such as atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and ring opening polymerization (ROP), conventional free radical polymerization and photopolymerization methods have been used. This study have been done in four steps. In the first step, novel cyclohexene (CH) functional initiators have been synthesized and characterized. In the second step, the initiators synthesized and some commercially available initiators have been used as initiators for ATRP or ROP or conventional free radical polymerization to obtain end- and/or mid-chain cyclohexene oxide functional polymers. In the third step, end- and/or mid-chain cyclohexene oxide functional macromonomers have been synthesized using epoxidation of obtained cyclohexene (CH) functional polymers. In the fourth and final step, graft copolymers have been obtanied via photoinitiated cationic polymerization method by using synthesized macromonomers. All the structures of obtained compounds were determined. In the characterization, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, GPC, and elemental analysis techniques were used.Key Words : ATRP, ROP, Conventional Free Radical Polymerization (FRP), Functional Polymers, Macromonomer, Photoinitiated Cationic Polymerization, Graft Copolymer.
