Synthesis and chracterization of novel type metallo phthalocyanines

In this thesis, the new type phthalocyanines [2,10,16,24-Tetrakis(1,2-benzene dimethyloxy)phthalocyaninato zinc(II)] (6), [2',10',16',24'-(Tetrakisbenzyl)-bisphthalocyaninato-dicobalt(II)] (7), [2',10',16',24'-(Tetrakisbenzyl)-bisphthalocyaninato lutetium(III)] (8) and {2',10',16',24'-Tetrakis[1,2-di(furan-2-yl)-N,N'-bis(3,4-dicyanophenoxy)-ethane-1,2-diimine]bisphthalocyaninato-dizinc(II)} (9) have been syntheised in two steps. The phthalodinitrile derivative 3 was prepared by the reaction of 1,2-benzendimethanol (1) and 4-nitrophthalonitrile (2) with dry DMF as the solvent in the presence of the base K2CO3 by the reaction of nucleophilic substitution an aromatic ring. The same route were applied to prepare the phthalodinitrile derivative 5 which can be obtained by the reaction of [2-2']-furildioxime (4) and 4-nitrophthalonitrile. The template reaction of 3 in stoichiometric ratio with the corresponding metal salts gave the novel mononuclear ZnPc 6 and binuclear ball-type metallophthalocyanines, Co2Pc2 7 and LuPc2 8. The cycletetramerization of compound 5 gave the novel a binuclear ball-type methallophthalocyanine Zn2Pc2 9.In the experimental study have used ``heating of the solid phase?? method for the synthesis of novel binuclear ball-type Co2Pc2 7, LuPc2 8 and Zn2Pc2 9 Pcs. Mononuclear ZnPc 6 was prepared by reflux in solvent.Newly synthesized compounds 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 were characterizated by FT-IR, UV/VIS, 1H-NMR and MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy techniques.Keywords: Ball-type phthalocyanine, cobalt, zinc, lutetium
