Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the behavior of the support designs proposed by the rock mass classification systems under static and dynamic conditions is analyzed by the finite element method. For this purpose, geological data are obtained from the tunnel area with an excavation length of 2540 m opened in the weak rock mass within Honaz Mountain. The rock mass properties around the tunnel have been determined by laboratory and field experiments. The rock mass classification systems (Q, RMR, RMQR, RMi, RSR, NATM) that are widely used today have been determined and the rock mass around the rock mass around the tunnel has been classified. At the same time, the support designs proposed by these systems have been determined. By researching the seismicity of the region in question, calculations including seismic information that will create the dynamic conditions have been made. Using this information, two and three dimensional results are tried to be calculated with geotechnical software (RS2 and RS3) that can perform static and dynamic analysis, which are closest to the real terrain behavior. Based on these calculation results, the performances of the support designs proposed by the systems under static and dynamic conditions are evaluated. As a result, the stability of an underground structure is tried to be determined by numerical methods under static and dynamic conditions with different support designs. Which classification system proposes the most suitable support design for dynamic conditions has been revealed by the comparisons made. Support designs proposed by six systems containing rock mass support proposals are analyzed using the finite element method and new suggestions are made. Support suggestion are developed for dynamic conditions.
