Local governments and culture, büyükçekmece municipality within the scope of cultural municipality

Municipalities contributes social and economic development by supplying their public infrastructure, reconstruction, traffic, cleaning, health, education and so on. Culture is a person's beliefs, customs, traditions, values, rules, knowledge and skills in a person's life, and habits that he or she has gained from the environment or society. Person's culture is his/her own life. Each life reflects the individual culture and the social culture in the common culture of individuals.Individual, society, institution and organizations, states have specific cultures. The culture of the individual, which is the most core culture, forms the culture of the states. Many problems in the world are the cultural problems of individuals, society and states. The fact that there is hunger and misery in certain parts of the world, wars, and lack of internal confusion are due to unconscious culture and lack of education. In this sense, central governments should give importance to education and cultural studies. In the areas where central government is inadequate, local administrations as the closest institutions to the public, especially municipalities with autonomous budgets, also have duties. The success of educational and cultural services carried out by the municipalities in Turkey, is closely related to the importance of these services in all services and the intellectual structures of mayors. Municipalities under the direction of a president who is indifferent to culture and the arts and who have not realized the importance of education for individual and society, will undoubtedly ignore such services. Local governments are among the institutions with the highest potential to influence the place they are located.
