Abstract (EN)

This research aims to measure the effect of strawberry seedling support provided by local governments for farmers on the idea of entrepreneurship. The population, which was designed with the screening model amongst the quantitative methods, consists of farmers who were given strawberry support by Konya Metropolitan Municipality in 2019. The sample is 387 people among a total of 2,591 farmers determined by convenience sampling method: 1,377 men and 1,214 women, who do farming in the 158 neighbourhoods located in the 21 districts of Konya in 2019. The data obtained in the research have been analysed using the SPSS 22.0 program. While analysing the data, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin value was calculated initially to evaluate the sample adequacy and was found to be sufficient. Using the Bartlett test, whether the data obtained from the participants was suitable for factor analysis was examined and it was determined that it was suitable for factor analysis. Kolmogrow Smirnow test was performed to determine whether the scale scores were normally distributed. After examining the factor loadings, the entrepreneurial tendency scale was examined in three sub-dimensions because it was collected under several sub-factors, and the support scale was examined in a single sub-dimension. Cronbach's Alpha test was performed for the reliability analysis of the scale used. It was observed that the reliability coefficient of the scale was close to one and its internal consistency was very good. Whether there is a relationship between the strawberry seedling support provided by the local government and the entrepreneurial tendency sub-dimensions was tested with simple correlation. After it was determined that there was a "high level" relationship between the strawberry seedling support provided by the local government and entrepreneurship tendency, a simple linear regression analysis was performed to examine its effect on the entrepreneurship sub-dimensions and the results of the analysis were found to be statistically significant. The main hypothesis of the study that strawberry support has a positive effect on entrepreneurship tendency in rural areas was accepted with the sub-dimensions of enthusiasm, innovation and determination.
