Green supply chain and total quality management: A bibliometric assessment

This study aims to examine the interaction between Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) and Total Quality Management (TQM), which are of strategic importance in helping businesses achieve their sustainability goals, through a bibliometric analysis approach. Within the scope of the research, a total of 101 academic publications published between 2010 and 2024 in the Web of Science and Scopus databases were analyzed; it was found that 29 of these publications were indexed in both databases. During the bibliometric analysis process, the data obtained from each database were analyzed separately using VOSviewer software. Subsequently, the WoS and Scopus datasets were merged using RStudio, and the combined analyses were again conducted with VOSviewer. The publications retrieved based on keywords were systematically evaluated through various bibliometric indicators such as keyword frequency and conceptual linkages, and the prominent themes and conceptual frameworks were identified. It was observed that publications in the GSCM and TQM literature began to increase significantly from 2019 onwards, with China being the most active country in terms of publication output. The study maps the current state of the GSCM and TQM literature, identifying research trends, knowledge gaps, and potential future research directions in these fields. At the same time, it offers guiding recommendations for businesses on establishing sustainable supply chains and developing effective quality management strategies. While making a theoretical contribution to literature, this study also provides important strategic outcomes for practical management practices.
