Abstract (EN)
This study attemps to evaluate the novels of Yılmaz Erdoğan in terms of structure, theme, and internal and external elements and to assess the novels structurally under the categories of the narrator, point of view, case plot, individuals, time, place, language style, and narrative techniques. Therefore, we have dealt with Yılmaz Erdoğan's life, Works, and novel summaries in the first part of the study by interviewing Yılmaz Erdoğan. We have divided his Works into four parts under the titles of novel, story, poem, and anthology. We have analyzed Yılmaz Erdoğan's novels in terms of structure in the second part. We have divided this part into two sections under the titles of internal elements, i.e. narrator and perspective, plot, characters, time and setting, and narration technique, letter technique, description technique, interior monologue technique. The third part deals with the themes prominent in Yılmaz Erdoğan's novels. We have grouped those under seven titles: Distress and conflict, history, longing for home, longing fort he lover and longing for childhood. People often go back to the past and always keep their memories alive in the corner of their hearts through longing. Nature: The nature theme in Yılmaz Erdoğan's novels usually emerges during travels. The countryside, plaims and mountains in the locations visited by the team are frequently mentioned. Opening up to nature has a significant role in the novels. History: The history theme in Yılmaz Erdoğan's novels is based on significant figures in the history of the Turkish nation. The author processes the stories of the past in connection with the problems of the present. Thus, the past and present are integrated, and the author reads and questions the present through the past. Tradition: The tradition theme in novels is presented to raise the reader's awareness with the description of our cultural values. Religion: We see the religion theme in the novels occasionally when praying to someone, and occasionally in the lullabies read to children. Yılmaz Erdoğan's novels combine beliefs and traditions that have existed for many years and have been filtered through time. While narrating the history theme in his novels, Yılmaz Erdoğan portrays the heroism and suffering of the Turkish nation in history with national emotions and solidarity. The national, Islamic and historical events and values touched upon by the author in the novels to be analyzed guided us, and the traditionalist attitude of the author enabled us to step into the world of novels. We have sought to analyze his novels through themes such as distress and conflict, longing, nature, love, history, tradition, and religion and to examine the narrative techniques employed.
