The effects of management skills of director nurses on the clinical studies

A survey is carried out about the director nurses in our study. The sample groups are constructed by the director nurses who work in two public hospitals in the town of Kartal in İstanbul. In both of the hospitals, 76 director nurses joined to the survey. The reason why the number of the nurses who joined to the survey is fewer that the director nurses who render serves to those hospitals are restricted by the field that they work on.Director nurses are primarily responsible for the submission of the medical services which are related to the nurses. The director nurse gives guides to the personnel of the nursing service. He/she is responsible for the planning of the nurses? working load, their occupational retraining, their improvements and their motivations. While the director nurses perform those mentioned responsibilities, they collaborate with the clinical nurses to make the clinical works and patient care more qualified. Not only the director nurses are effective in health services, but they also effect the success of the institution they work for. The one who is aware of his/her responsibilities, competence and duties will increase the success of the institution at the same time.% 80 of the director nurses who work in Kartal Yavuz Selim State Hospital and % 90,2 of the director nurses who work in Dr. Lütfü Kırdar Education and Inspection Hospital are constituted of clinic responsible nurses. Dr. Lütfü Kırdar Education and Inspection Hospital is bigger than Kartal Yavuz Selim State Hospital in terms of patient capacity and physical capacity.Key words: the management skills of the director nurses, the management of nursing services, the director nurse, the management of the hospital.
