Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out in Yozgat conditions in 2017-2018 to examine the morphogenetic and diurnal variability of clary sage (Salvia sclarea L.). In the research, S.sclarea plants propagated from seed in the research and application area of Yozgat Bozok University Faculty of Agriculture, Topçu (Center/Yozgat) were used as plant material. In order to determine the morphogenetic and diurnal variability, flower, leaf and stem samples were collected at three different hours (09:00 am, 12:00 pm and 15:00 pm) during the full flowering period. The essential oil content and its components were investigated in the shade-dried samples. According to the research results; the highest essential oil ratio (0.463%) was obtained from the inflorescences collected at 09:00. Linalyl acetate, germacrene-D, and linalool in the flowers; germacrene-D, bicyclogermacrene, caryophyllene, spathulenol, carophyllene oxide and sclareoloxide in the leaves; linalool, linalyl acetate, tetradecane, germacrene-D, hexadecane, docosane, eicosane, octadecane and sclareoloxide in the stems, were determined as the main components. Linalyl acetate was highest in the 09:00 picking of the inflorescences and progressively decreased during the other two picking times. A similar situation has been found in linalool. The lowest value of germacrene-D was also recorded in the essential oil obtained from the collection at 15:00.
