Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the reaction times and attention spans of highpotential individuals and normally developing individuals. According to the results of this study, it is aimed to determine the effects of high-potential individuals, especially in terms of attention and focus, and to obtain information about whether their attention levels contribute positively to reaction levels and whether there is a correlation between the attention spans of high-potential students and normally developing students. In the research conducted with the survey model, 267 students were selected from the Turk Egitim Vakfı İnanç Türkeş Private High School (TEVİTÖL), where high-potential students are educated, and 368 students were selected from the high school students studying in different regions of Kütahya. Reaction and attention measurements were made according to the participants' height, weight, class, age and school type. While reaction measurements were made by using the "Fit light" device, attention measurements were measured with the Bourdon attention test. The obtained data were analyzed with calculations such as percentage, frequency, ANOVA, Welch test and ttest with the SPSS statistical program. When the attention values are examined according to gender as a result of the tests applied to the participants, there is no significant difference between the male and female participants according to the t-test results.(p>0.05). A statistically significant difference in favor of women was observed between the right and left hand reaction values between male and female participants (p 0.05). When the right and left hand reaction values were examined according to the age variable, no statistically significant difference was found.( p> 0.05).
