Abstract (EN)

This study explored the relationship between ovarian cancer (OC) risk in Turkish women and polymorphisms in TNF-β (+252A>G), which are known to play a critical role in malignancy development. The study included 47 cases and 45 controls and used RT-PCR for genotyping analysis. Statistical analysis was conducted to compare significant differences between the groups. The outcomes showed that the control group had an AA genotype at 64.4% (29 out of 45), an AG genotype at 35.5% (16 out of 45), and a GG genotype at 0% (0 out of 40). In the ovarian cancer patient group, the AA genotype was at 53.1% (25 out of 47), the AG genotype at 29.7% (14 out of 47), and the GG genotype at 8.5% (4 out of 47). However, no significance was observed when comparing the groups, with a p-value of 0.802. more extensive studies with larger population scales are necessary to determine the exact association.
