Abstract (EN)

Out of the performance analysis methods partaking in the Turkish Earthquake Code ? Specification for buildings to be built in earthquake areas-2007 (DBYBHY2007), using the equiavelent earthquake load from linear elastic methods and the incremental equiavelent eathquake load from linear inelastic methods analysis have been done on three story buildings containing vertical direction structural irregularities (B2-Soft Story). SAP2000 program has been used performing the analysis.In line with soft story irregularity, undertaking a building with first floor raised, effect of the infill wall on the structure?s performance has been reviewed. With this purpose buildings were designed as non-infill walled, second and third floors infill walled and all floors infill walled. The infill walls were modeled as equiavelent diagonal compression bars. The properties of infill walls were determined depending on the geometric and mechanical properties of the materials used to form the model. In analysis of infill wall buildings, performance of the equiavelent diagonal compression bars wasn?t calculated; the effects of the infill walls on the performance of beams and coloumns were explored.Analysis of performance values obtained from the building, according to the method used, were compared among themselves. As a result of these comparisons, it is established that the infilled walls placed in buildings significantly increases the buildings performance.
