Abstract (EN)

Alienation, which is researched as a central notion in many different disciplines such as philosophy, psychology and sociology, is analyzed in literature both in the theoretical dimension and used as a method in literary works and taken as a basis as a subject. In its most basic expression, alienation, which is characterized by the phenomena of feeling distant and alien to oneself or to someone else, not feeling belonging to the society, place or time, is discussed in this study with its appearance in different disciplines, theories of alienation are analyzed, the theories of alienation and alienation in literature are examined and the theoretical information obtained is examined comparatively in the selected novels of Yusuf Atılgan from Turkish literature and Anar from Azerbaijani literature. The phenomenon of alienation in literature has been investigated in many studies in the examples of Turkish literature, but it is not possible to say the same opinion in the context of Azerbaijani literature. Considering the fact that the subject of alienation is almost unexplored in the field of Azerbaijani literature, in this thesis, in order to contribute to the field, the selected subject has been treated with a comparative method and modern classics from both Turkish and Azerbaijani literature have been discussed.
