Abstract (EN)

The perception of intolerance of uncertainty among Generation Z individuals and its impact on career future has become an important research topic in today's business world. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of Generation Z individuals' levels of intolerance of uncertainty on their career future. Additionally, this research evaluates the differences between Generation Z individuals' perceptions of intolerance of uncertainty and demographic characteristics. The research was conducted using a quantitative research method. The population of the study consists of undergraduate students studying at Gazi University during the 2023-2024 academic year, while the sample of the research includes students studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences at the university. Students from the departments of physical education and sports teaching, coaching education, sports management, and recreation participated in the study. Due to time and resource constraints, a convenience sampling method was used to determine the study group, and data from a total of 335 participants were analyzed. The findings of the study showed that the levels of intolerance of uncertainty among Generation Z individuals negatively affect their perceptions of career future. This relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and career future revealed that the anxiety and stress experienced by individuals in the face of uncertainty negatively impact their attitudes towards career planning. When evaluated in terms of demographic variables, it was found that factors such as gender, age, and education level create significant differences in intolerance of uncertainty and career future perception. This study emphasizes the importance of Generation Z individuals' ability to cope with uncertainty in their adaptation processes to the business world. Employers and career counselors should develop strategies to enhance Generation Z individuals' skills in dealing with uncertainty. Furthermore, it is suggested that creating a supportive working environment that minimizes uncertainty in work settings can increase Generation Z individuals' positive attitudes towards their career future.
