Analysis of poetic istishhad and istishhad couplets in the work of zamakhshari's al-Kashshaf 'an hakâiki gavâmizi't-tenzîl and 'uyûni'l-ekâvîl fî vucuhi't-te'vîl

Istishhad, which is a method of bringing evidence, is to say another word that is certain to be true in order to prove the truthfulness of any word or statement. (eş-Şihrîy, 1431: 42) Istishhad with poetry is one of the proof methods used in the science of Tafsir. (Öğmuş, 2015: 115) The author of the commentary book known simply as "Keşşâf" is Zemahşerî (Öztürk, Mertoğlu, 2013: 44/236-238). Zemahşerî, who stands out with his studies in the field of language and rhetoric, is one of the scholars who preferred this method in his commentary. "Keşşâf" is the philological interpretation of the Holy Quran, the first source of religious sciences, by making use of linguistic sciences. (Zemahşerî, 1998: 1/18) The name of this tafsir, in which linguistic sciences are applied to the science of tafsir, is "'an Hakâiki Ğavâinizi't-Tenzîl ve Uyûni'l-Ekâvîl fî Vucûhi't-Te'vîl (Keşşâf)". (Zemahşerî, 1998: 1/18-20) The subject of our study is the author's method of istishhâd through poetry, the identification of the couplets he used in his poem, their poet, their subject, and their analysis.
