Abstract (EN)
In general, drilling activities occur at many points in our lives, even if we are not aware of it. Drilling studies are carried out for mineral exploration, determination of ground layers, petroleum research, extraction of water for drinking and use, geothermal energy and ground surveys. Despite all the precautions taken and the test results, incorrect calculations in the Soil Investigation Report or errors during the civil engineer's calculations may cause irreversible accidents. The civil engineer makes some static calculations according to this report. Construction carried out as a result of incorrect calculations may, after a while, cause collapse towards the ground, tilting on its side or irreversible cracks in the walls. Again, the reason for this miscalculation is errors in the ratio of cement or iron used, causing the structures to fall far short of the planned strength quality and cause the construction to collapse after a while or even during the construction phase. The soil survey report used within the scope of this study was conducted in Istanbul province, Avcılar district, Cihangir District. The aim of the study is mainly to identify the possible risks that working personnel may encounter during drilling operations, and to determine potential risks and ways of protection by evaluating them in terms of Occupational Health and Safety. The dangers to be encountered during these operations emphasize the importance of occupational health and safety (OHS). While carrying out the ground investigation, drilling, geophysical studies and various laboratory studies were used. It has been mentioned in studies that the occurrence of incorrect or incomplete data can often lead to irreversible results. For this reason, in order to train the personnel and take the necessary safety measures, hazards and risks in terms of occupational health and safety have been identified and the necessary safety measures have been suggested. Keywords: Occupational health and safety, drilling risks, risk analysis
