A research on the possibility of usage of ash as a building material which is formed by mixing olive waste with sewage sludge and burning in pellet form

In this study there is investigated about possibilities of alternative energy usage together of olive waste and sewage sludge, which become problem for agriculture and environment in Aydın province. On the other side the aim of this study is to determine the possibility of application of waste's ashes in construction materials to avoid negative impact of contamination of danger content to ground and water resources. In this study is used sewage sludge of wastewater treatment which is located in Aydın municipality. In order to increase the energy value of sewage sludge, the homogeneous mixture is prepared by adding different ratios of olive waste that is the secondary agricultural products. After that under open air condition drying process was applied to prepared samples for reducing the high moisture content in the structure. Drying efficiency and the usability for alternative energy sources has been investigated. The suitability of the material for transport condition was tested by some mechanical property; like water absorbability of pellets.
