Abstract (EN)

Introduction and Aim: Benzimidazole derivatives are currently used in the treatment of various diseases. Alzheimer's disease is one of them. Alzheimer's disease is one of the most common diseases worldwide. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of 1-benzyl-2-substitutedphenyl-benzimidazole-5-sulfonamide derivative compounds on cholinesterase enzymes. Material and Method: In this study, 10 new compounds were synthesized. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectral analysis methods. The cholinesterase inhibitor activities of the synthesized compounds were investigated. Results: The IC50 values of the synthesized compounds against cholinesterase enzymes were determined and most of the synthesized compounds exhibited inhibitory activities. It was determined that the activity of the most effective compound was approximately 5 times higher than tacrine. Conclusion: 10 new compounds were synthesized. Their inhibitör activities against cholinesterase enzymes were investigated. According to the results, more effective compounds with higher activity against cholinesterase enzymes will be designed.
