Özet (EN)

Recently, Turning-milling method has been developing rapidly. This method is a chip removal operation that is the combination of turning and milling steps. This method provides processing of cylindrical and eccentric parts. Turning-milling method allows the cutting tool and the workpiece to revolve around its own axis simultaneously. In this study, particularly, 100Cr6 bearing steel, that is used to make loom engines and pumps, measuring instruments, mold parts, shafts, sleeve guide and many machine parts, was processed by tangential turning-milling method. Experimental studies have been conducted by using of full factorial experimental design method. In experimental studies, cutting parameters such as workpiece rotation, cutting velocity of tools, axial propagation rate and cutting depth were investigated to understand the effect on surface roughness. It was observed in experiments, the increasing of cutting speed of tools and workpiece rotation improves the surface roughness until a certain value. After this value, surface roughness was increased dramatically. In addition, Surface roughness increase was observed with the increasing of cutting depth and axial propagation rate.As a result of the experimental study; cutting parameters in tangential turning-milling method are effective to process 100Cr6 bearing steel and surface quality is close to the polished finish.
