Abstract (EN)

The Ottoman Empire's significant knowledge of economy, religion, law, military, government and social order is found in court records which were kept by the qadi and his assistants in spiritual courts. Seeing the themes that we know in theory according to Islamic law such as heirship, wardship, deputation, family law, testimony, charitable foundation, etc within court records in an applied way presents a great deal of importance in terms of modern day reflection. Studying the term between H. C. 1286-1287 ( G.C. 1868-1870) we have understand that there were non-muslims beside muslims in Eğin town. Apart from living in accordance with their own religious principles, non-muslims declared to be judged in Islamic courts. In order to reflect the Islamic law practically, we have tried to analyze the legal assesment of Eğin court records eleventh/11. The notebook consists of 40 leaves 80 pages. It has the transcription of 161 documents. In the first section a basic information about the spiritual court and court records is given. In the second section a general description of Eğin is presented. In the third section legal assessment of the notebook is made. In addition to these, some documents from the original text are presented.
