Abstract an investigation of relations between emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior levels of emergency medicine technicians and paramedics who work in 112 emergency health services

Objective: The purpose of this research is to look at the relationship between the organizational skills behaviour and emotional intelligence level of 112 health care professionals who work in emergency medical services and Paramedics, and improve the level of emotional intelligence and sensibility of organizational behaviour of participants.Methods: The participants of the research are 273 Emergency Medical Technician and 127 Paramedic, in total of 400 employees who are working for Command and Control Center (CCC) and the Emergency Aid Station (AU) mission which is connected to Istanbul Provincial Ambulance Service. The research used five dimension literature gained by Bar-on "Personal Skills", "Interpersonal Skills", "General Mood" and "Stress Coping", "Compliance" with the "emotional intelligence" scale which has 59 substances and a method developed by Baykal and Altuntas using with proven reliability and validity of nursing "Conscientiousness", "Tolerance-sportmenship", "Courtesy-based information"," Supporting and development of organization-civic virtue"," helping-altruism", including the five dimensions and 24 items consisting of "organizational citizenship behaviour" were also used. The data were analysed by SPSS method. The relationship between Demographic data tables with frequency agility and variables were tested with correlation and regression methods. The research is based on the relational model. Results: The study reveals that the average level of emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship of participants are at high level. As a result of the obtained information, there is a substantive positive sided relation of Emergency Medicine Technicians and Paramedics' organizational citizenship behaviour and emotional intelligence levels and their emotional intelligence level has a significant and positive influence over their organizational citizenship behaviour. Conclusion: Overall, the high level of personal and interpersonal skills of the emergency medical technicians and paramedics are important factors to be conscientious, tolerant while they are performing their profession and loyal and helpful to their friends and institution.
