Evaluation of the emergency medical call management training program for 112 Command Control Center employees

Objective:It is aimed to evaluate and determine the effectiveness of the emergency medical call management training program for 112 Command and Control Center employees implemented in the Antalya Regional Education Research Application and Simulation Center. Method: The research is a study carried out with dispatchers who work at 112 KKM and participate in the Emergency Medical Call Management Training Program applied in the Antalya Regional Education Research Application and Simulation Center. The research consists of two stages. In the first stage, the opinions of the call managers (n: 81) who participated in the call simulation applications program were evaluated through a 12-ıtems questionnaire. In the second stage, the real case audio recordings of the participants (n: 36) were evaluated by using achecklist developed for this study a total of 216 ıncluding 3 records of each participants before and after traingwere analyzed. Results: In their general evaluations about simulation applications, it wasseenthat the survey participants were satisfied with the phone-based call simulation applications with 4.7 ± 0.5 points on the 5-scale. In the audio recording analyzes, a statistically significant difference was observed between the pre-and post-training scores of the participants in all call steps. (Overallscore; p <0.001). The scores regarding the standard opening speech, checking vital signs, detecting the clinical situation, first aid information, enforcing instructions, establishing appropriate communication with the ambulanceteam, closing the call properly and ensuring call control by establishing correct communication increased statistically significantly after the training ( p <0.001). Conclusion: After the training, there was a significant difference in the emergency medical call management skills of the participants. It can be saidthatthis program, which is based on simulation applications, is generally useful in transferring knowledge and skills to real life and creating behavior change.
