Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of proprioception exercises on active jumping, shooting, leg strength and balance parameters in male basketball players who have been playing basketball for at least two years. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of proprioception exercises on static balance, vertical jump height and reaction time parameters of male soccer players during warm-up before training. In line with the aim of the study, the physical and motoric tests were conducted at Halkalı Uğur Schools Galaksi Sports Club. The warm-up protocols were applied at Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Hall. The sample consisted of 24 male basketball players in the experimental group (n=12) and the control group (n=812) with the written consent of their families. The groups were determined by random assignment, the research model was an experimental model and the pre-test - post-test design with control group, which is one of the true experimental designs, was used. While the control group practiced pre-season basketball training, the research group continued proprioception training for two months. Anthropometric measurements, y-balance test, balance error score test, vertical jump test, leg strength test and AAHPERD shooting tests were repeated for both groups before and after the application. The data obtained at the end of the study were evaluated using the SPSS 25.0 package program. Parametric and nonparametric distributions, distribution curves, and Skewness-Kurtosis values of the pre-test and post-test measurement scores of the individuals were examined. Shapiro-Wilk test was used to determine the normality distribution of the pre-test and post-test measurement values. Since the data were normally distributed, the t test in independent groups was used in parametric tests, and the t test in dependent groups was used in intra-group comparisons. The significance level was accepted as p<0,05. The pre-test and post-test values of basketball players in the experimental group showed a statistically significant difference in the dynamic balance parameter (p<0.05). When the post-test values between the groups for the dynamic balance parameter were examined, no statistically significant difference was found in the parameters. When examined according to the static balance variable, it was thought that the fact that there was no significant difference between the pre-test post-test values of the experimental group within the group, while a significant result was found in the control group balance single error test was related to the training program applied by both groups. No significant difference was found in static balance performance values between groups (p>0.05). While a statistically significant result was found when the experimental group leg strength pre-test-post-test results were compared (p<0.05), no significance was found when the results obtained between the groups were analyzed (p>0.05). When the vertical jump pre-test-post-test data were compared between the groups, no statistically significant difference was found (p>0.05), but more positive improvement was observed in the proprioception group compared to the other group. A significant difference was found in the experimental group pretest-posttest results (p<0.05). When the experimental group in-group pre-test-post-test shot accuracy rate data were analyzed, a statistically significant difference was found (p<0.05). As a result, it can be said that proprioception exercises contributed positively. However, more studies examining the relationship between proprioception and motoric characteristics in developing athletes are needed.
