Özet (EN)

It is critically important that an individual be in continuous harmony with person environment in terms of person level of self-acceptance. Physical deficiencies are impediments fort the social acceptance fort he individual.The purpose of this study is to put forth the relationship between the self-acceptance levels of visually impaired students between the ases of 13?18, some do sport and some doesn?t.The study was conducted with 60 visually impaired students in total and lasted for 6 weeks.?Self-Acceptance Inventory? developed by Temuge (1987) was used in the study in order to Meysure self-acceptance levels of visually impaired students some do sport and some doesn?t. Also, for the purpose of obtaining the demographic data of visully impaired students participating in the study, Personal Information Form, which was designed by the researchers, was used.Data obtained dere analyzed by using SPSS 12.0 statistical software and MS Office Programs. The effect of sport on self-acceptance is clearly selen in the theoretical part of the study. However, as a resul of the survey administered, it is found out that the expected effect of sport on self-acceptance is not observed.Based on the results of the survey mader for assessing the self-acceptance process of visually impaired students, it is observed that, 6 out of 116 answers are different that are asked to both visually-impaired students 30 of whom are doing sports and 30 of whom are not doing. ?I like meeting strangers and making new friends?, ?I can?t work while others are watching me?, ?I am embarrassed with the compliments made to me even if they are true?, ?Generrally I ry to satisfy the others instead of myself?, ?I am as much as handsome/beautiful as most of my friends are?, ?I get angry and frustrated quickly although I don?t want to?. For these proposings, the value of P<0,05; so it is significant.
