Transcription and evaluation of Sharia records no 1486 of Rize/Pazar

Study of this Sharia records (years Hijri 1327-1329 / 1909-1912 AC) No 1486 of Rize/Pazar (Atina) has been done based on microfilms photocopies belongs to ISAM Library. Decisions taken in the courts and records kept in the Ottoman State were collected in the records of the sharîa register. These registers provide important data in terms of local history. When the registers are examined, the social, economic, administrative and legal aspects of a region can be revealed. In the study, the Rize/Pazar sharîa register of 1486 numbared from 1909 to 1912 belonging to the Lazistan Sanjak's Atina district was introduced and the records of the court in Atina were classified according to the family structure, administrative, social and economical aspects and socio-evaluations of economic life have been made. Register consist of 89 leafs and 176 pages. During transcription of register page numbers were followed, numbering done from our side was based primarily on document number and secondarily provision number given (2. Page, 2. Provision ). such as s. 2 h. 1, s. 2 h. 2, .... etc. Seeing types of documents taking place at register, most of them consist of scripts among which heritages, endowments, decrees are also available. Black and unreadable parts of sharia records on which we worked were mentioned with (...) mark, while unclear and suspicious ones were shown with (?).
