The investigation of the toxoplasma seroprevalance in 15-45 ages pregnant women with indirect hemaggulutination method

In order to determine the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma in pregnant women aged 15-45 years by indirect hemagglutination method, blood samples taken from 100 women who applied to Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology were examined. Indirect hemagglutination method was used to determine toxoplasma positivity. Then, laboratory tests of pregnant women were searched and ELISA results were compared with our results. The data obtained from the study were analyzed with SPSS 18.0 package program. In our study, Toxoplasma seropositivity was found to be 13% by indirect hemagglutination method. When the files belonging to the same people were examined from data, it was found that the ELISA method and the IgM positivity were 11%. As a result of our study, ELISA IgM results were positive in 11 (84.61%) of 13 patients who were found to be positive by IHA method and negative in 2 patients (15.39%). As a result of statistical analysis, it was observed that both indirect hemagglutination test and ELISA results did not show significant difference according to age, however, Toxoplasma positivity increased due to increase in age. When the results obtained from the study were taken into consideration, seroprevalence of Toxoplasma was not high in our region. Indirect hemagglutination method was thought to be a reliable and reliable test everywhere in Toxoplasma diagnosis because it is easy to apply and does not require device.
