Abstract (EN)

One of the most valuable source of the Ottoman social and economic history is clearly court registers. Court Registers are also important for better understanding of the Ottoman legal system and its bureaucracy body. Latinized source of this work is 1587 numbered Court Registers (Şer'iyye Sicilleri) and composes year of 1640 (Hijri 1050). This study divided to four chapters. The first chapter gives brief knowledge on Court Registers and court officers. In the second chapter importance of Court registers have been debated and sorts of documents have been introduced. The third chapter has been paid for evoluation of 1587 numbered Rodoscuk (Tekfurdağı) Court Registers. And in the fourth and last chapter 1587 numbered Court Registers has been Latinized. These registers composed by 75 pages and 150 leafs. During the transcription unreadable words signed by (…) and words which are read with doubts signed by (?). Court Registers of Rodoscuk as a port city of the Ottoman Empire includes data on the city and its social life. Document sorts of the registers are mostly composed by huccets, berats, vakfiyes and terekes
