Ottoman-Venice Commercial Relations in the Mediterranean of 16th century

Political relations between the Republic of Venice, which took an active role in trade in the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Ottoman Empire, varied throughout the 16th century. However, despite all these political tensions and wars, even though economic relations were interrupted for a short time, they continued from where they left off in the end. In this study, the general course of the Ottoman Venetian trade in the Mediterranean in the 16th century was examined in the context of political events and environmental factors. Ottoman documents in the Ottoman archives and studies in the literature have been a guide in this regard.
