Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relationship between the central provinces and Bursa is discussed. The records of B. 154, B. 19, A. 154, A. 155, B. 22, B. 21, B. 20 and B. 25 which are in Bursa şeriyye registers and covering the first years of 17th century were examined. The ferman and berat sent from the center to Bursa within the mentioned registers were evaluated. Thus, it has been determined on which subjects the relationship between center and Bursa is concentrated, the demands of the center from Bursa and the extent to which Bursa can meet these demands. The issues that are the subject of bureaucracy between Center and Bursa are determined as economic, military, social issues and berats according to their reasons of arrival. The aim of this study is to make an evaluation about the situation of Bursa in the early 17th century based on the documents examined. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the materials requested by the center from Bursa and to make explanations about the economic and social situation of the city. In addition, the effects of the problems experienced in Istanbul on Bursa were investigated.
