Özet (EN)

One of the significant archival documents of the Ottoman Empire, the şer'iyye registers, encompass extensive informâtion on social, economic, political, and administrative matters. Among these, the şer'iyye register numbered 179, pertaining to the Behisni district, holds particular importance. Covering the period between 1890 and 1893, this document spans pages 1 to 156 and contains a total of 309 court decisions issued by two judges, with 39 of these decisions attributed to the second judge. Additionally, ten pages of the document consist of transcriptions from a permit register. This register provides rich and valuable insights into the social and economic conditions of the Behisni district, offering crucial data on the ort life, social relâtions, and administrâtive functioning of the era. Having been fully transcribed and made available to researchers, this document constitutes an indispensab'ile source ort he study of Ottoman history, particularly for understanding various aspects of the Behisni district.
